Drunk Driving Study Shows Sacramento Has Second-Highest Rate in US
A new report by LendingTree found that Sacramento has the second-highest rate of drunk driving among big US cities. California cities are high on the list of places with lots of drunk driving.
LendingTree looked at different things to rank the 50 biggest cities for drunk driving. Sacramento is number two, and other California cities like Los Angeles, San Jose, and Bakersfield are also in the top five.
Raleigh, North Carolina, is number one on the list. The researchers aren’t sure why North Carolina and California have so many drunk drivers.
The study thinks weather might be part of the reason, but they need to look into it more. The report also found that young drivers aged 18 to 26 are most likely to get caught driving drunk.
Because of these worrying numbers, police are doing everything to catch drunk drivers. They’re setting up more checkpoints, especially on holidays like Labor Day when more people drink.
